Longji rice terrace and Yangshuo Cruise tour

Attractions: Longji Dragon Backbone Rice Terrace were first built in the Yuan dynasty and completed in the Qing dynasty, and are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountaintop.

 

Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival / Guilin / Longji
Transfer via: by air-own arrangement
Upon arrival, pick up by our English speaking tour guide and drive to Longsheng, visit Longji Mountain Village, about 2 hours driving on road, stroll around the village. Stay over night in Ping An Village.

 

Longji is famous for the Longji Dragon Backbone Rice Terrace: 60 square kilometers of terraced rice fields southeast of Longsheng. They were first built in the Yuan dynasty and completed in the Qing dynasty by Zhuang people. The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountaintop, with the highest place of an elevation of 885m and the lowest 380m. The coiling line spirals up from the mountain foot to the top, making the mountain looks like huge snail seen from afar.

 

Day 2 Longji / Guilin (B,L,D)
Visit Huangluo Yao Ethnic Village at the foot of the mountain. Transfer to Guilin by road. Visit Reed Flute Cave, Seven Star Park. Take evening cruise on Li River and surrounding lakes.

 

Reed Flute Cave: Aside ten minutes drive (half hour bike ride) from downtown, the cave is one of the largest known examples of what each tropical karst cone conceals within it. The script writers and set designers for Star Trek would have a field day in this cavernous underground stalactite/stalagmite maze-style theater. The dropping water is rich and the dripstones are not only in various types but also in big size, displaying a wonderful cave world. This cave was called "The Art Gallery of Mother Nature". Colored fluorescent lights which cast shadows and illuminate shapes of imaginary animals, fruits and vegetables complete the unworldly effect.

 

Day 3 Guilin / Caoping Village (B,L)
Drive to Caoping, about 40 minutes drive from Downtown Guilin, Visit ancient town of Daxu and Crown Cave. Stay in the Caoping village overningt.

 

Crown Cave, located in Caoping Village, 29km south of Guilin city, is one of the most famous tourist spots along Li River. Taking the shape of a crown, this cave, standing on the bank of the Li River, for hundreds of years, has attracted countless poets, scholars and nobles. In 1637, Xu Xiake, an ancient traveler in China, visited here and was regarded as the first visitors to this cave.

 

Day 4 Guilin / Yangshuo (B,L)
Wake up in the morning in the surprise for the beautiful surroundings of Li River. Take the Li River Cruise to Yangshuo. Chinese lunch will be served en route.

The 83-km-long waterway from Guilin to Yangshuo is the masterpiece of Li River, decorated with rolling hills, steep cliffs, fantastic caves, leisurely boats and lined bamboos. A poem says: "The river is a green silk ribbon, and the hills are jade hair-pins."

 

Later this day you will arrive at Yangshuo. You can also choose to stay in the town, stroll around the local market, witness the daily activities of local society. Enjoy a class for Chinese Tachi in Yangshuo at sunset.

 

Day 5 Yangshuo / Departure (B,L)
Transfer via: by air-own arrangement
In the morning, you will be transfer by company vehicle to Moon Hill. Climb up Moon Hill. Then drive to Yulong River, take bamboo rafting for two hours on Yulong River through limestone mountains and trails.

 

Later today you will be transferred to Guilin Airport for return flight to your next destination. You will stop at Yangshuo Shangrila for a visit, it is a typical Chinese sample of villages, garden, waterway, etc.
